Default E34 Jump start terminals?

Daft n00b question.

Tried to jump start a friends car yesterday and rather embarrasingly I realised I had no clue where the battery is. I know now that it's in the back seat, but that there are terminals in the front, I found what I think is the positive terminal (plastic cover appears to be missing), but not the negative one. Where is the negative one located?

you wont find the negative terminal because ther isnt one, clip the jump lead anywher on the chassie/body work in the engine bay, and that will give you a negative grounding......
