Something I was thinking of...If you knew your BMW had a previous celeb owner would you pay any more money for it? Or if your current car had a previous celeb owner would you advertise it so when you were selling it on or would you feel like a twat?
I just saw this overpriced 2001 330 msport cab on carzone priced at 15k ....."Previous Owner Keith Duffy"...Do you think would someone out there be mad enough to pay for a 2001 car if there were similar 2004/2005 cars at the same price (a Boyzone fan presumably)? http://www.carzone.ie/search/BMW/3-S...t?channel=CARS It also reminded me of 323Ci cab I saw in glasnevin a couple of years ago when I saw shopping around. The car was a complete dog (sluggish, heavy, smelly, leather torn) but the sales man tried to make up for it by saying it was "previously owned by Ronan Keating"...I quickly walked away...Just checking the website now, it's still for sale nearly 2 years later. I'd imagine it's rotten by this stage. Priced at 18k then, 9k now. http://www.carzone.ie/search/BMW/3-S...t?channel=CARS I also remember Joe Calzage's M3 going for big money around the same time... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/EDITORIA...DER/33646.html ...and I think there was an 850 on carzone a while ago with previous owner as Ronnie O'Sullivan. |

The Keith Duffy one must be a typo, yearwise. It's a facelifted car so that makes it '03 at the very earliest.
And to answer your question, no I wouldn't pay extra for any celeb cast-offs and I'd be unlikely to mention it to anyone unless it was somebody cool like Samuel L.Jackson. |

David Beckhams e36 m3 was on ebay a while back, think it was relisted soon after it's original appearence.
And no! Especially if it was owned by Ronan Keating - the smell of bum sex will stick in that car for a llllllllllooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn ggggggggggggg time!

Not really a benefit, no bragging rights where the above celebrities are
concerned i don't think. An old girlfriend of mines uncle bought her aunt Whitney Heuston's old Bentley about 7 years ago. (American btw) That's proper celebrity stuff. ![]()

A few years back I met a guy who owned Bishop Caseys black e30, he was quite proud of the fact, the girlfriend less so!!!
I nearly bought Ronnie Drews old Renault 25tx of a co-worker back in '97 more because I'd a soft spot for the R25. £1200 punt would have bought her back then, OK money for an 86 gold coloured, well spec'ed R25!! Nowadays how would you even know if a celeb owned the motor, since the demise of the old paper log book you have no physical link to it previous owners. Like where's the proof that Ronan Keating may have murdered a song in that 323. Jesus thinking of it some celeb cars could do with a health warning. |
