Today I managed to get a small bit of work done towards polishing the car. Since it's been painted the lacquer has sank a lot leaving the finish a bit dull.
Luckily there's a serious amount of lacquer on the car so it can be easily flat sanded.

First a before picture. The clarity of reflection leaving a bit to be desired

After wet sanding half the roof

The reflection after the cutting compound stage

Annoyingly the rain arrived before I could finish completely so it'll have to wait till next weekend.
It did mean that there was some instant beading shots. Polished on the left and untouched on the right

And a nice 50/50 comparison across the roof of the improvement in clarity

So overall I'm pleased with progress and hopefully the whole car will be finished before the summer

Today i got the tackle the remainder of the roof. Started wet sanding with 2500, then 3000, then 5000, then 7000. A bit extreme on the sanding but i find it makes the polishing a lot faster.

The remainder of the roof wet sanded

After polishing

Unfortunately bad planning meant i ran out of polishing compound before i was completely finished but i did get a good level of reflection back.
Next weekend will hopefully finish it off completely
