I've got a leaky exhaust on my 320D at the flexi joint and bought a used front section from a guy who was dismantling a similar car. I had planned on doing the swap myself as I have all the tools and access to a pit for a few hours. However, it doesn't look as easy as I had thought. Getting to the nuts holding the exhaust to the turbo seems impossible without removing the steering guibo and linkage. Has anyone here ever done this job themselves? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I've fitted a decat to my 330d last weekend, its possible, just small movements on a ring spanner and a rachet, I've taking one of a 320d before also, a lift will def be easier than a pit to work on it.

I actually managed to crack both bolts open but then couldn't get a spanner or ratchet on either of them so I had to leave it for another day! Maybe I should just try with different tools again, even though I had 3 types of spanner so that could be tough.
