Section: Corporate News - BMW will extend its production line in Thailand with the assembly of the X3 sports activity vehicle, the automaker has announced in Munich, The Nation reports.

This brings to four the number of models assembled in Thailand for the local market in the CKD procedure (Completely Knocked Down). The vehicles are assembled with imported and locally-produced parts.

BMW said it had so far invested some 45 million euros in the Thai factory in Rayong which also produces the 3-Series, 5-Series and 7- Series. The X3 will be ready for sale in Thailand from February next year.
