hi all,

New here, but I'm hoping I'm in the right place for some advice!

I have an '09 E60. Left the electrics on a bit too long last night while waiting for herself who was a bit delayed. This morning I have the workshop symbol and "High Rate of Battery Discharge" showing on the display.

Nothing in the manual, do I just need to go for a long drive to charge the battery. Will the message just disappear then (without a trip to a dealer?).

Cheers,

Pete.

Yeah it sould go away no probs. did you noice any of the elecric stuff not working when you did restart it? radio, headlights, heater etc? It takes about 15 minutes to charge the battery just enough to replace the power wasted during startup so it'll take a while of driving (or just running) to get it back o a level you can rely on.
