Hi, just a rant... booked in car to have rear drivers side pdc replaced as it had stopped working(no ticking noise) all the other three were working(making ticking noise). so anyway dropped it in to Joe Duffy in Finglas, 4 hours later they ring me and tell me I need three pdc sensors!!! costing €645!!they then charged me €125 for diagonstic to tell me lies about the sensors i can clearly hear working.....plus the sensor they ordered for me they gave away, and I had to wait two weeks for it as it is painted....i'm so pissed off:mad:

anyway does anybody know how to remove a pdc from the 2005cd m-sport, I think the bumper might have to come off:confused: because I'm just gonna get the sensor (B66.20.0.309.539) and possibly do it myself. Or does anybody know and good independent man who could do it for me!!!

Thanks Lads!!

Just bring it over to murphy and gunn, much better service and pricing. I've also used chelmsford motors for work and have been very happy.

Yep - Joe Duffy's get a lot of bad press, and its usually for a good reason. It'll be no surprise to anyone that they're getting a lot of votes in the specialist awards for worst main dealer.

Think the sensors clip in from behind, so the bumper would need to come off. Removal of the bumper isn't a big job though, so its worth trying yourself!

Yeh I've had similar experiences with Frank Keane, found them hopeless to deal with.

Have hear good things about M&G so maybe give them a try, or if you can find an independent BMW Specialist go that route; Most of those BMW corporate dealerships will screw you for hundreds more than the job is worth!

Jeez, often it seems to be just blind luck as to how well you get treated by a garage. I've had both brilliant and dire service from AC Cars for instance.

Not disputing foxey's (or anyone else's) frustrating experience with Joe Duffy Finglas at all but I just got work done with them yesterday and found them a complete pleasure from start to finish. Really nice and knowledgeable techie called Andy came with me for a drive, listened to everything I whined on about and then sorted it out. Price was fairly decent.

Complaints regarding BMW

I once had an issue with Conlan BMW, I contacted BMW Ireland and they were no help and said they had no power over Conlan's. I ended up contacting BMW Europe who contacted BMW Ireland and told them to sort out my issue, BMW Ireland acted immediately and my problem was solved.

In regards to Joe Duffy, they offered me 15K for my 2011 520. I had 2 other dealers, one BMW and another Hyundai offer me 18K and 19K. I was purchasing similar priced 2nd hand vehicles from each dealer. Joe Duffy salesman told me that it is because they sell cheaper and what I lost on the sale would be made up on my purchase. What they were selling me was at the top price for the same car from other dealers.

I have not had good service from BMW dealers here in Ireland and it has put me off BMW for good.

For what it's worth any of my dealing with BMW dealers in ROI are that they will shaft you given half a chance.
I'm lucky that I know my way around car's and can challenge their BS, but I genuinely feel sorry for people who haven;t a clue.

BMW Europe need to sort it out. Appalling service from a quality brand.
