Hi guys I have been trying to re-initialise my e36 remote key today. I followed the procedure outlined here:

The car was locked with the remote before I decided to tinkering with the key (I had a new set of buttons to fit). Anyway I took too long messing around with it & now I need to re-intialise the key!

I waited the 15 minutes, key to Pos 1, hold Unlock down while pressing lock 3 times. No joy. Any ideas?

A bit of a drive around before trying to re-initialize the key solved my problem. Just typing this for others or for me when I do the same thing again in 3 years time!
