AFAIK the minimum hub centric size for the e46 will be 10mm
Was just out trying to get an idea what room i have to work with and i could possibly work with 10mm but it will be tight..

Are non hubcentric a no no? Ive never had to use spacers on any of my cars so not up to date on them.

You can have hubcentric 7mm or less too, when fitted there is enough of the cars own hub exposed to centre the wheel.
I got some on the 'bay a few years ago with the correct e46 centre bore for very little money, no problems mounting wheel centrally.
