I just bought a 2002 330ci and the PDC is faulty.

When you put the car into reverse it beeps constant then stops all together.

The previous owner made me aware of it but i want to get it sorted.

Any tips on troubleshooting?

Its just a sensor out ,put the car on redlights put it in reverse and put your ear to the four sensors on the rear whatever ones arent making a ticking noise are you faulty sensors these need to be replaced

"That would be an ecumenical matter"

Tested all 4 sensors and they are all making the ticking noise.

Should it beep constant for 4-5 second when you put the car into reverse?

I have noticed that sometimes the PDC seems to work fine then other times it is not working at all.

I'll spend some more time troubleshooting tomorrow.

No that noise means there is an error , time to get it onto a diagnostic id say.i replaced all four of mine a while as 3 were faulty two didnt make noise but the third one did but i hooked it up to the laptop and found that the 3rd was faulty even though it was ticking, it could be the module itself at fault best bit its get it hooked up to a computer though

It could also be a faulty wiring harness in the bumper. If the bumper was ever removed & refitted incorrectly then the cable might have been routed incorrectly & subsequently become chafed resulting in a short circuit.
Might be worth checking.

Joe Duffy told me I needed all four!!! Just changed the one that wasn't working, never looked back, that was 4 years ago and there hasn't been a prob since, got the pdc on e bay, luckily it was the same colour also!
