Well the rain finally let up for a bit and i managed to get the HID's installed. I can't believe the difference these make, they're soooo much brighter ! Went for the 6000k Kelvin kit.

They were much easier to fit then i expected i have to say. Took me about 30 mins each side.

I don't know of anyone in Ireland doing these kits. I got mine from Ben at Chromeline Design.

Just checked, he has a kit listed for the E46 on his site, see here. Well worth it imo, they make such a difference !

I'll try get some night pics tonight.

no idea what they're like at night yet ! Turned them on last night when finished, it was about 8.30 and still bright and you could see them light up the road !

They are great arent they Dave, just ordered a third set for mine!
Dont forget to take them off for the NCT as the testers will fail you (well thats what I was told when I went for mine last year!)
A third set Mike !!! What kelvin rating have you got at the moment ?

They are fantastic, NCT not due till July next year. tbh i'll probabbly just put it through the NCT as is and see what happens. They mighn't even notice them !!!

havent a clue on the rating lol
Going for the the fulls hids..... I spoke to a tester who noticed me pulling into the centre with em on, he told me they would fail them if noticed on the test, so luckily I had spare lamps in the car and whipped em on

Didnt give me a reason just that they would fail them?! Didnt question just refitted them when I walked out to the car in the car park!
I know they are an MOT failure in the UK as HIDs need auto levelling and headlight washers to be deemed road legal but not sure on the rules here.
Easier to just do it than argue etc

........ or insuring their cars!!

Don't get me started :D

My brother got t-boned last week, they skidded through a stop sign and creamed him, he's ok but the car is a write off, no insurance, they said they would pay!!

Might require a visit from some people with wooly faces!

i was told by a polish guy that their insurance is void because they move country without telling their insurance company they only go back once a year to renew it because what ever laws they have over there forces them to renew it in person!!! theres no way they are gonna pay the bill of damages those guys should be locked up for having no insurance like we would be!! "a visit form the guys with wooly faces" dats a good idea....

I'm starting to get annoyed with these people, I was walking my dogs the other day (my parents own a wood near the boyne) and there was, seriously, about 35 to 40 black bags dumped!!

I routed through them (nosey b*stard) and found a couple of envelopes with address on them, all Polish names, some even had Polish return address!!

Now the dilema is - Gardai or wooly faced individuals???

pass the info onto the cops straight away....they will be able to do fuck all but a visit by the law might make them think twice. these idiots in their old LHD 5 series are really a serious danger on the roads. had one of them trying to race me on the M7 the other day, stuck to my bumper, about 24 of them in the car. i predict a huge increase in the sales of baseball bats and ski masks:mad:
