Hi, I have a 525D with three diamond keys, My son just got a 318 coupe with one diamond key.
Can I use Inpa to get his car to recognise the transponder in one of my keys and then just get a key cut?

Does that mean 120+ from BMW or is there any other solution? Cut the transponder chip from key? I've had one apart and can't see the chip? Guessits embedded in what's left? Get a key cut and hide chip in column somewhere? Sorry for being a cheapskate.

if U keep chip in column ,u will never lock your car ,central body computer will not let u to do this as it will think that u have left key in ignition. why u cant just get new key from bmw which will work without any hassle :confused2:and will work straight away without any coding

the dealer is as cheap as anywhere else usually. When you buy the new key you will have to program the remote (un)locking once you get it. The chip for immobiliser & transponder for remote locking are separate systems.

Here's a "how to":
