does anyone know where the fuse is located for the cruise control have searched a few forums to no avail my cruise control doesn't knock on at all so i want to start with the fuse before i move onto pulling the car apart
I'm telling you they would!switchs under clutch and brake are fine , also these would not stop the cruise control from powering on ,they would just keep disengaging it according to a forum on bimmerwerkz
im stumped on this one![]()
i just took them out and had a look at them john , i did run a diagnostic on inpa and nothing showed the only reason i thought they where fine was because of what i read on another forum that if they where faulty the cruise control light would still come on on the dash , if the brake one was faulty would that not stop the brake lights from functioning ? , i might just chance it and change them as you siad there only cheap as im running out of ideasI'm telling you they would!
The car needs to know the what the clutch is doing and also the brake application before allowing the cruise control to engage.
Would love to know how you tested them.
A diagnostic will tell you exactly what is wrong.
When you press the cruise button on the steering wheel, what happens? Does the cruise light come on?i just took them out and had a look at them john , i did run a diagnostic on inpa and nothing showed the only reason i thought they where fine was because of what i read on another forum that if they where faulty the cruise control light would still come on on the dash , if the brake one was faulty would that not stop the brake lights from functioning ? , i might just chance it and change them as you siad there only cheap as im running out of ideas

Have you tried removing the steering wheel Gar? maybe something is disconnected?absolutely nothing at all happens john
maybe conor was right the car probably just doesn't have it , do you know where the cc module is located ?
tested it on inpa all buttons working on the steering wheel , this might sound a bit dumb but could it just be the bulb in odometer when you activate cruise control aside from the little symbol coming up on the odo does anything else come on say where the mileage is or somethingHave you tried removing the steering wheel Gar? maybe something is disconnected?

Try the same with your clutch switch.
It may not be broken but just not making proper contact with the pedal. Hence wy it didnt show up on the diagnostic.
hi sorry i did see your post i thought i replied i tried the brake but it didnt work i have diagnostic software at home and theres no errors showing up on the maf also the car feels fine powerwiseyou prob didnt see my last post.. its your maf.. get that checked
Ok done the above and the light came on then went off when I started car/touch brake pedal.its your maf i guarentee it.. i had exact same prob.. when u first start the car dont pres the brake then press the cc on button and the light should come on.. and then press the brake it should go off and not come back on until u restart the car.. that happens with a faulty maf..
wanted to try get to the bottom of it myself before i sent it in somewhere , i wont be at blarneyWhy don't you get the car connected up to DIS? If you're still stumped I'll hook it up at Blarney.
